About Us

In 2009 I’d been working at another publication when it went into receivership. Suddenly jobless for the first time in my life, I came up with the crazy idea that I could start a new publication and get my colleagues who’d also lost their jobs on board. It was risky to say the least, considering I was a single parent of three and had the sum total of $35 in my bank account at the time.  But, thankfully the Penrith and St Marys community embraced and supported our project, and against many peoples’ predictions, we are still going strong all these years later.  As well as many years experience in journalism, I have in the past been a Licenced Real Estate Agent and a Political Adviser for several  members of parliament. I enjoy every minute of my job, am so thankful that Nepean News enjoys the support of local Penrith and St Marys businesses and that I am surrounded by such a great team.

Korena is always up for a chat. She’s got many years of experience working in sales across a number of wester Sydney institutions. Give Korena a call and she can discuss your advertising options for Nepean News.

Advertising Executive
I enjoy talking to people who own businesses in the Penrith area about their advertising needs. I have a background in home loan lending and in the Police Force and I’ve lived locally for years. In my spare time I like spending time with family and dining out with friends in Penrith’s great restaurants. I also love playing lawn bowls and travelling. Give me a call if you’d like to discuss your advertising needs. larry@nepeannews.com.au 0432 062 643

Noel Rowsell
Senior Journalist
My career in journalism began as a Photo/Journalist in 1992, covering Basketball in all its variations, such as NBL, WNBL, SEABL, Waratah, Junior Representative, Wheelchair, Little People and those with an Intellectual disability. I was fortunate enough to cover the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games and several World Cups, which gave athletes with a disability far greater exposure in local media through my stories and action photos from those events. After retiring from a career in Sales in 2016, I was offered the opportunity to write a regular Legends of the Nepean column for the Nepean News and my exposure to a wider readership allowed me to uncover stories and photos on many varied topics and people in the Nepean, Lower Blue Mountains, Blacktown and Hawkesbury Districts. The editorial and community feedback on the Legends column, local news and Golf in particular has been overwhelmingly positive and has cemented my drive, determination and desire to continue uncovering the best people and the best stories in our respective districts mentioned above. photoshoot@bigpond.com 0424 007 202
