NSW has defeated QLD in the Final of the 2025 Australian Interstate Team Golf Championships, which were held at Melville Glades GC (WA) over 5-7 May.
In the preliminary rounds, NSW drew 4-4 with WA, won 7-1 over VIC, won 6.5-1.5 over SA, drew 4-4 with QLD and won 6.5-1.5 over TAS to qualify for the Final against Qld.
NSW would go on to claim the national title in emphatic style, defeating QLD 6.5-1.5. NSW would also win the Men’s trophy, whilst QLD won the Women’s Trophy.
20-year-old Coby Carruthers (Jordan Springs / Concord GC) is a member of the NSW team, competing in 4 of the team’s matches and recording 2 wins and 2 losses.
The tournament is Australia’s premier Amateur Team Golf Championships, and this year showcased a mixed team format for only the fourth occasion.
Each State was represented by ten players (five men and five women), with four men and four women contesting a round-robin format, in singles match play, concluding with a Final for the leading two teams.
