PENRITH junior golfer Jessica Fog (The Lakes GC) is one of twenty-six of the state’s most promising junior golfers named in the 2026 Jack Newton Junior Golf Development Squad. The group has already enjoyed a two-day training camp at Riverside Oaks Golf Resort last week.

The squad consists of eight female and 18 male athletes drawn from clubs across the state, ranging from Bonville on the mid-north coast to Royal Canberra in the ACT.

The Riverside Oaks camp gave athletes an intensive introduction to the program, covering technical coaching across all areas of the game, on-course performance challenges, athlete profiling and goal setting, education sessions on tournament preparation, physical conditioning and mental skills. Athletes also used the two days to begin building the team culture that underpins the program’s approach.

The Development Squad is structured around a mix of camp-based group education and ongoing regional support, allowing athletes to keep developing in their local environments whilst accessing centralised coaching and high-performance bench-marking. The program focuses on technical, tactical and mental performance, with the broader goal of preparing athletes for state and national pathways.

Riverside Oaks is the first of several camps planned for the year, with the program also integrating key tournament opportunities throughout the season.
