LIDCOMBE and Auburn Cycling Club has proudly congratulated 22-year-old Andre Dubier (Werrington) on an outstanding series of performances on the international and national stage.

Currently studying Law and a Politics Degree at the University of Sydney, Andre has demonstrated an exceptional ability to balance the demands of university study with the dedication, discipline and determination required to compete at the highest level of university cycling.

Representing Australia (UniRoos) at the University World Championships in China, Andre produced a strong international campaign against some of the best university cyclists from around the world, finishing 8th in the Criterium, 13th in the Time Trial, and 16th in the Road Race.

Competing on the world stage is an achievement in itself, and those results reflect Andre’s commitment, preparation and ability to perform under the pressure of international competition.

Andre then delivered a truly exceptional performance at the 2026 University National Championships in Perth in September, taking two national championship victories and finishing on the podium in all three events: 1st – Road Race; 1st – Criterium; 2nd – Time Trial; Overall – National Champion.

Winning both the Road Race and Criterium, alongside a second-place finish in the Time Trial, is an extraordinary achievement. To combine these results and be crowned Overall National Champion is a testament to Andre’s versatility, consistency and all-round strength as a cyclist.

Andre is a member of the NSW Track team and will compete at the upcoming Omnium National Championships in December. This is a four-discipline event, comprising a Scratch Race, Tempo Race, Elimination Race and Points Race, with points earned in each discipline deciding the National Champion.

In addition to his University commitments, Andre also works as a Private Tutor and as a Cycling Coach, working predominantly with Road cyclists.

From competing against the world’s best university cyclists in China to becoming Australia’s Overall University National Champion in Perth, Andre has enjoyed a season of which to be extremely proud.

Beginning his cycling career 16 years ago with the Marconi Club (two years), then moving on to Lidcombe/Auburn, Andre’s achievements showcase not only exceptional cycling talent but also the discipline required to pursue sport and academic excellence simultaneously.

FOOTNOTE: Just last week, Andre also won the combined Men’s A Grade Club Championships, which featured Lidcombe / Auburn, Bankstown, Parramatta and Parklife Cycling Clubs.

53-year-old Charlie Bahlmann (Penrith) is also a member of LACC and won C Grade at the Club Championships. Charlie began cycling in 2019 and, after four years with the Penrith club, moved to LACC 18 months ago, describing the club as well-organised, very professional and one to be proud of.

Charlie also competed in the NSW & ACT CX Championships and finished the season in fourth place.
