THE Penrith branch of the National Servicemen’s Association (NASHOs) held its final Commemoration Service on Sunday 24th May, welcoming former Patron and local member of Parliament David Bradbury back as guest speaker.
Age does not weary those who fell in service of Australia, but time has unfortunately caught up with those who returned from active service, and the challenge of organising the annual Commemoration Service has finally taken its toll.

A wonderful crowd turned out to celebrate those who had been called to war as conscripts from 1965-1971, remembering and honouring those who had fallen and proudly acknowledging the survivors, including those who were at the Service.
The NSW Premier Chris Minns MP, Federal Member for Lindsay Melissa McIntosh MP, State Member for Penrith Karen McKeown OAM MP and Penrith City Mayor Todd Carney were among the official guests and all laid wreaths in remembrance, along with a host of other attendees.
NASHOs President Roy Young was at the original Service in Victoria Park in 2006 so it was certainly fitting he also spoke of his National Service and recalled the better memories of that experience.
