THANK YOU for helping us Pink Up Penrith!

By Gai Hawthorn

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Pink Up Penrith McGrath Foundation Mad Hatter’s High Tea! What a wonderful day filled with community spirit, laughter, beautiful hats and, most importantly, raising funds and awareness for our amazing McGrath Cancer Care Nurses.

A warm welcome from our Mayor Todd Carney was a lovely way to start the day, and it was wonderful to have our State Member, Karen McKeown OAM join us for this special occasion along with our new Deputy Mayor and fellow councillors

A heartfelt thank you to Ryan Barlow, CEO of the McGrath Foundation, and Nurse Antoinette Burke for their inspiring words. Along with Kerry Dowling, a survivor, and a great panel discussion. Thank you also to  Beth Spanos for bravely sharing her journey and reminding us all of the importance of getting checked, knowing the signs and looking after ourselves.

Today, we also took a moment to honour Shirley Curtis who recently passed away but was such a passionate Pink Up supporter. Her daughter Kate Olsen spoke beautifully honouring her mum. Shirley, you are remembered with so much love.

We also honoured Paul Field, whose life was sadly taken too soon by cancer. Paul was the husband of Gina from our major sponsor, NRS. Cancer truly does suck, and it takes far too many good people from us far too soon. Our hearts are with Gina and everyone who loved Paul.

A big thank you to our wonderful MC, Julia Parashko for keeping the day flowing and bringing so much fun to our Mad Hatter’s High Tea!

**A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR GENEROUS SPONSORS:**
– NRS
– Eather Group
– Rafton Lawyers
– NORO
– City Cave
– Saints Leagues Club

Thank you to Saints Leagues Club for the awesome-style photo booth, which added so much fun to the day!

A big thank you to Sara Louise Photography for capturing our special day.

A special thank you to Vince and the team at Lakeside Restaurant for the fantastic food and wonderful service, as always. We truly appreciate your support.

Most importantly, thank you to every person who attended, donated, sponsored, supported and helped make this event such a success. Together, we are raising vital funds to support our incredible McGrath Cancer Care Nurses, who make such a difference in the lives of individuals and families experiencing cancer.

What a beautiful community we have here in Penrith!  A special thanks to all our volunteers for their hard work.

Every dollar raised, every conversation shared and every person who shows their support helps make a difference.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for helping us Pink Up Penrith!
