IN 2024, St Marys South Public School students collaborated with Council through the Penrith Mayoral Challenge program to help design a new playspace that reflects their community.
Penrith Council staff were amazed by the students’ inventive approach in developing a bush-themed playspace concept inspired by the region’s biodiversity.

The playspace includes:
• In-ground joey trampolines and swings
• Balance play
• Shade sail
• A yarning circle
• Picnic shelter and new seating
• New drink fountain and accessible pathways
• New tree plantings
This project was funded by Penrith City Council.
