21-year-old Coby Carruthers (Jordan Springs / Concord GC) has become the first-ever Australian player to win the Faldo Series Asia, following a thrilling playoff victory over 20-year-old Yuki Hari (New Zealand) at Laguna Lang Co golf club, Vietnam.

Coby took the lead in the tournament on Day Two, following a scintillating 8-under-par 63, to lead Yuki by two shots.

.Day Three provided cooler conditions, with Coby and Yuki subsequently lighting up the course to finish tied at 11-under-par, six shots clear of the rest of the field.

Both players headed to a playoff on the Par 5, 18th hole, with Coby sinking a triumphant birdie to seal the win, claiming both the overall winner and U21 boys trophies.
