FORMER Leonay resident Tyler Nesci (Concord GC) has been chosen in the ASUN Conference Academic All-ASUN golf team, which recognises student-athletes with a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA who participate in at least 50% of their team’s games/meets.
Tyler attends college at the University of West Georgia and has played in six of 11 tournaments in the 2025-2026 season, including the GMAC Invitational (T42), The Scrappy at Cobblestone (T51), Savannah Inter-Collegiate (T42), Surf Club Invitational (T94), Bluegrass Collegiate Invitational (T28) and ASUN Conference Championship (T53).
The UWG Wolves won The Savannah Intercollegiate to start their Spring semester campaign, which Tyler said “was a huge win for the team and our program.”
2024-25 – Played in seven tournaments in his first year as a Division I golfer … averaged 75.88 over 17 rounds with two rounds at or below par … best finish was a 28th-place finish at the Pinetree Intercollegiate … best 18-hole score was one-under par.
2023-24 – Played in 13 rounds over five events in his second season … averaged 76.54 with a low round of 73 which he shot twice on the season … best finish was a ninth-place finish at the Matt Dyas Invitational.
2022-23 – Joined the Wolves in January and played in five events and amassed 14 rounds … averaged 77.21 as a freshman … had a season-low round of 69.
