CHRIS Boswell (Dogs in the Park) reports “On Sunday, we opened our World Dachshund Festival 2026 at our brand-new venue, The Orchard Penrith, from 10 am—and what an incredible day it was!

“We experienced a huge lineup of dachshund owners and families attending the event, with so many dachshunds joining us for a fun-filled day. The new venue allowed the event to be well spread out, with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the festival comfortably.

“With over 30 market stalls and food vendors, many selling out on the day, the atmosphere was amazing from start to finish. We also had the biggest dog competition entries we have seen across each event category, which made it very hard for our judges on the day. A huge thank you to everyone who entered and supported the competitions.

“Our event staff went above and beyond to make sure attendees, stallholders, sponsors and dogs had the best possible day. On Sunday, we could clearly see that The Orchard is a fantastic new home for our Penrith dog events, with room to welcome even more dachshunds in future.

“We were proudly supported by Royal Canin, who were on site providing helpful information about the best nutrition for dachshunds, and SASH, who attended to promote after-hours dog care and raise awareness around IVDD in dachshunds.

“I was over the moon with the success of the day. Our team works around 14 hours on event days to bring the best possible experience to the local community, and we are so grateful for the support shown by everyone who attended. We can’t wait to return to The Orchard with:

Dog Glow Festival – Saturday 10th October 2026 (NSW’s newest dog event and the first of its kind).
