Penrith City Mayor Todd Carney and Category Winners.
THE Rotary Nepean Police Area Command ‘Police Officer of the Year 2025’ awards were held at Penrith RSL on Wednesday 3rd June, recognising the activities of officers and support staff from the local Command during 2025.
The event was organised by the Rotary Clubs of Penrith, Penrith Valley, Nepean and St Marys. Speakers at the event included the Mayor of Penrith City, Councillor Todd Carney, the Nepean Police Area Commander, Superintendent Trent King, and the Joint Chair of the New South Wales Police Officer of the Year Awards, Trina Phillips.
The Chairman of the organising committee, Phil Martin, announced the winners of the various categories and the Police Officer of the Year. Trophies were presented by Councillor Carney and Superintendent King.
Constable Ben Puxty was awarded the highly-coveted Police Officer of the Year award, along with the Specialist Officer of the Year award.
The other category winners were Senior Constable Morgan Bailey (General Duties Officer of the Year), Sergeant Aidan Hoffman (Leadership Award), Ritesh Singh (Customer Service Excellence Award) and Paula Phelan (Police Employee of the Year).
In addition to the awards, money raised from sponsorship and raffle sales resulted in a $5,000 donation to Police Legacy.
